City spots with my Mom & Dad

Having visitors is a great excuse for getting to go fun places and this past weekend (despite the terrible weather!) was no different when my lovely mom and dad came to visit!

A few spots that we made it to over the weekend...

Schiller's Liquor Bar (amazing brunch...the best potatoes).
131 Rivington St.

Schiller's

Menu

Wine selection: Cheap, Decent, Good. You pick!

We went for brunch, but it is quite hopping all hours of the day.

Westville
210 W. 10th Street,
or
173 Ave. A

We had a delicious dinner here with a group of people (some of my faves) and even though the place is very small and doesn't fit big groups very easily, the staff was really accommodating and kind. Good food, good company!

Every day they have a changing list of 20 or more vegetable sides that you can choose from and they are all prepared in really interesting yet simple ways. Yum!

The sweet potato fries are amazing, as are all of the vegetables there (even if you don't like vegetables that much!).

It's tiny, but worth the wait and/or squish.

Freeman's

End of Freeman Alley

This place is easy to walk by, since you have to go down an unassuming alley way to get there.

The dining room is cozy and has a great atmosphere and decor.

Down Freeman's Alley is this store and a barber shop that is all affiliated with the restaurant. It makes you feel like you went back in time.

It was silly how good the artichoke, spinach dip was.

Thanks for a great visit wonderful parents! Love you!
